Acceptance of Terms
This website and the Tamias application (collectively, "the Service") are operated as a personal project by an individual based in the Netherlands. There is no registered legal entity behind Tamias at this time. Your use of the Service is subject to these terms and all applicable laws. By accessing or using the Service, you accept these terms without limitation or qualification.
We may modify these terms at any time without notice. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
Description of Service
Tamias is a personal financial monitoring and aggregation tool. It connects to financial accounts and data sources that you authorise, aggregates that information, and uses automated analysis to produce a daily summary of your financial position. Tamias is currently offered as a private beta service and is subject to change, suspension, or discontinuation at any time without notice.
The Service is designed as a personal finance monitoring tool — not as a financial adviser, broker, portfolio manager, or regulated financial service of any kind. Features such as the daily briefing, allocation summaries, and projections are informational outputs based on the data you provide, and are not personalised investment recommendations.
Educational and Informational Purpose Only
The Service, including all calculators, briefings, projections, and content on this website, is designed to be an educational and informational resource. Nothing on this website or within the Tamias application constitutes personalised financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, nor should it be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or otherwise deal in any financial instrument, security, or asset.
Any tools, calculators, or outputs discussed or provided — including retirement projections, FIRE calculations, life expectancy estimates, and PERMA assessments — are examples and illustrations only and may not be appropriate for your individual circumstances, risk tolerance, tax situation, or financial objectives.
No Licensed Financial Service
Tamias is not a licensed investment adviser, portfolio manager, broker-dealer, or regulated financial services provider in any jurisdiction. The Service does not constitute an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any financial product. Tamias does not hold, manage, or have discretion over your assets.
Investing involves risk. The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may receive back less than you invest. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Before making any financial decision, you should seek advice from a qualified and licensed financial professional who can take your individual circumstances into account.
Automated Analysis Is Not Advice
Tamias uses automated processes and algorithms to analyse the data you connect to the Service and to produce summaries, alerts, and projections. These outputs are generated automatically without human review and are not personalised financial advice. Any language in the Service that might appear to suggest a course of action (such as "review needed" or "on track") reflects automated data comparisons against your own stated targets — not professional recommendations.
Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create a user account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep that information current. Inaccurate information may affect your ability to use the Service and the accuracy of the outputs it produces.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access or security breach. We recommend using a strong, unique passphrase and enabling multi-factor authentication where available.
If we detect suspicious or unauthorised activity, we may suspend or restrict your account access without prior notice in order to protect you and the integrity of the Service.
Beta Service
The Service is currently in private beta. Beta access may be revoked, features may change, and data continuity is not guaranteed. We make no commitment to any particular feature set, uptime level, or data retention during the beta period.
Account Connections
The Service allows you to connect external financial accounts (such as brokerage accounts, bank accounts, and portfolios) to aggregate data for display and analysis. By connecting an account, you authorise Tamias to access, retrieve, and process data from that account solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that connecting your financial accounts to the Service does not violate any terms of service of those financial institutions, and for any consequences arising from that connection.
Open Banking — Enable Banking
Bank account connections within the European Economic Area are made through Enable Banking Oy, a Finnish company authorised and supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanssivalvonta / FIN-FSA) as an Account Information Service Provider (AISP) under PSD2 (Directive 2015/2366/EU). Enable Banking holds the regulatory licence for the account information service; Tamias uses their infrastructure to retrieve your account data with your explicit consent.
Enable Banking's own terms of service and privacy policy govern their handling of your data during the authorisation and retrieval process. By connecting a bank account, you also accept Enable Banking's terms. Once data is retrieved and passed to the Service, it is governed by this policy and our Privacy Policy.
Credential Handling
Open Banking connections do not require you to share your online banking password with Tamias or Enable Banking. Authentication is performed directly with your bank via their own secure interface. For other integrations (such as broker accounts connected via file upload or API key), no security measure is absolute, and we make no warranty that any credential or data handling approach is immune from compromise.
Data Accuracy
The accuracy of any analysis, briefing, or projection produced by the Service depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the data retrieved from your connected accounts. Tamias does not verify, validate, or warrant the accuracy of data provided by third-party financial institutions or data sources.
Your Responsibility
You acknowledge that you are the only person who should rely on outputs from the Service. You are responsible for verifying any information produced by the Service against your actual account statements and for making your own independent judgements before taking any financial action.
As-Is Basis
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED TO YOU "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TAMIAS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR COMPLETENESS.
We make no representation or warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected. We make no warranty that the information or outputs produced by the Service are accurate, complete, up-to-date, or suitable for any purpose.
Jurisdiction Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties. Where such exclusions are not permitted under the law applicable to you, those exclusions do not apply to you, and our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
General Limitations
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TAMIAS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR FINANCIAL LOSSES, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF TAMIAS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
This limitation of liability shall not apply to claims relating to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or where applicable law does not permit such a limitation.
Investment and Financial Losses
In particular, Tamias accepts no liability for any financial loss, loss of investment value, missed investment opportunity, or any other financial consequence arising from your reliance on, or action taken in response to, any output, briefing, projection, alert, or other content produced by the Service. You accept full responsibility for any investment or financial decisions you make.
Maximum Liability Cap
To the extent any liability is found to exist despite these limitations, Tamias's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €50.
Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party data providers, brokers, banks, and platforms. Tamias is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. Any losses or issues arising from third-party services are outside the scope of our liability.
Our Content
All materials on this website and within the Service — including but not limited to text, software, algorithms, graphics, logos, and audio-visual content — are owned by or licensed to Tamias and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, retransmit, distribute, or commercially exploit any such material without our express prior written consent, except for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Your Submissions
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit to us in connection with the Service are non-confidential. By submitting such material, you grant Tamias a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, adapt, and distribute that material for any purpose. You represent that any such submission does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Use of the Service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms. This licence does not include the right to sublicence, reverse-engineer, or commercially exploit the Service.
Trademarks
The Tamias name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Tamias. Other trademarks displayed on the Service belong to their respective owners and may not be used without written permission.
Cookies
We use cookies to enable core functionality of the Service, remember your preferences, and measure usage through analytics tools. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or track personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

While we endeavour to keep the information on this website current and accurate, we give no assurance that any information or materials are up-to-date, accurate, error-free, or complete. We reserve the right to change content at any time without notice.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service. You agree not to introduce into or through the Service any malicious code, viruses, or material that is harmful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. We may terminate your access without notice for any breach of these provisions.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without reference to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands in connection with any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the Service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If you are located in the European Union, you may also benefit from mandatory protections afforded by the law of your country of residence that cannot be excluded by contract. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit any such rights.
Survival
The provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination — including without limitation the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property sections — shall survive any termination of your access to or use of the Service.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify these terms at any time by posting revised terms on this website. Material changes will be indicated by an updated "last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to any revised terms, you should discontinue use of the Service.
